View Full Version : If you're on Ravelry, can I get your opinion? Or, save me from 114 buttons!

I'm making this owlet (http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/owlet-2) sweater for my kids and their little baby cousin for Christmas.

However, I can't decide about the buttons. Which do you like best; buttons on all the owls, buttons on a few owls, or buttons on one owl? The original has them all around. But I kinda like the one with just one owl. But maybe that's my lazy side talking, since the prospect of sewing on 114 buttons isn't my idea of fun (and since we are one week to Christmas and only two sweaters are finished.) :shifty

I wouldn't put any buttons on. It looks tacky with all of them....and when there is only one owl with buttons it looks like oddly missplaced buttons. :shrug3 They look like owls with or without the buttons. however IF I were going to put buttons on I would do 3 owls in the middle front that way it looks intentional without going overboard

I agree that one owl looks best. All the way around is waaaaaay too much. Plus if any of the wearers has long hair it'd get caught in the buttons on the back and shoulders.
