I've only found one source -- they were a good price -- $8 for 4lbs, but shipping was nearly $10!
Anybody know of any other sources?

:think I can get them here in the UK with free shipping but can't find a US site. Do you know of any B&M agricultural merchants or something like that?
(I assume they are for making heated cushion / sock type things with cherry stones instead of rice or other grain.)

Yes, for making a heating pad for dh. He's jealous of mine (filled with corn). The cherry pits can be washed in the machine!
Also might make a couple of smaller ones for DDs and a boo-boo beanbag that doesn't get sucked on like our plastic spongebob one.:shifty

Have you tried cherrypitstore.com (http://cherrypitstore.com)?

1 - go to the grocery store
2 - buy several pounds of cherries
3 - force your family to eat only cherries for a day or two
4 - Voila! Cherry pits.

If you have luck contacting the cherry pit store, LMK! I've been trying at least a year. :giggle

Seriously?:hunh Did you order from them or just try to email them?
The cherry pit store was the only source I've found.

Karen -- your post makes me wonder what else might happen if I tried to force my family to eat that many cherries.:shifty
Besides, can you imagine the expense of cherries at this time of year?:jawdrop

I went ahead and ordered from the Cherry Pit Store.:shrug3
The shipping was more than the product.:-/ Not my favorite way to shop, but hopefully I'll get a delivery in a few days since it's UPS.
I did get a email confirmation -- I hope the order is fulfilled quickly!
