I drink too much coffee. I need other fun hot beverages that don't have a ton of calories and/or require a ton of prep time.

I think I need one of those Asian counter top water heater pump thingies. Because I like tea and have plenty of it, but it seems like so much work :giggle

Loose leaf tea IS a lot of work, at least for me.

Well, there's always hot cider... or what about flavored hot/steamed milk? A rich, homemade authentic Mexican hot chocolate?

We have one of these http://www.amazon.com/Sunbeam-6131-Water-Dispenser-Black/dp/B000C3QSPQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1288899259&sr=8-1

It heats the water quickly, then all I have to do is toss in a tea bag.

my SIL has an electric kettle that she loves for tea. It is cordless (sits on a base) and heats the water quickly.

I don't think of tea from tea bags as any more work than coffee. I just boil the water in a pot, then while I am waiting, I get the tea and cups.

Hot cider?

Hot cocoa with your favorite milk alternative? I think coconut milk makes nice hot cocoa. (the refrigerated kind)

I was thinking teecino, but I am pretty sure they don't have a gf version.

I love those thermoses. We use an electric kettle. It works fast.

I try to keep some different teas around. I really like coconut chai right now.

I like milk (or your favorite dairy replacement) heated with cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and cardamom sweetened with a bit of honey. It like chai without the tea.

A table top hot water/tea kettle is a great investment. I love mine. I like to drink herbal teas instead of coffee (but I still sometimes drink the ol' stuff).

I'm really enjoying my latest addiction: Herbal Chocolate Chai tea... it's a Canadian brand (PC) and OH.SO.GOOD!!! I can't believe that a non-caffeinated beverage could taste that good...
THere must be a version of in a brand that you could purchase in the U.S.

I had some Teecino yesterday. We are just wheat-free here, but actually, I eat wheat :)

We are severely limited in counter space. Like we have one counter and it's full with stuff I use everyday. So I'll have to brainstorm.

Dandy Blend (http://www.dandyblend.com/) - It's awesome. :) You can fix it up just like coffee. I think it tastes WAY better than Teechino. :shifty

Do you already have a coffee pot on the counter?

Yes I have a double-wide coffee pot on my counter (it brews espresso and can foam milk).

Interesting! It's not sold anywhere nearby. Maybe I'll try and get a friend to pick some up for me.

We drink hot water all the time. :shrug3 Seriously, hot water tastes... I don't know... almost sweet! I add a little honey sometimes, especially if my throat is sore or scratchy. We actually drink more water in the winter than the summer because it keeps us so warm.

Can you clean out the coffee pot and heat your water in that? Or replace it with a hot water pot if you're looking at giving up coffee entirely.

I'm kind of embarrassed to realize how much money I spent on coffee last month :bag So I'm starting off by making a smaller pot of coffee in the morning.

:bag I still haven't sent you that Dandy Blend. It's been in a baggie on my desk for a month. It got buried in Pure Romance orders.

How about wassail? I had no idea it was actually a drink until just a few days ago :giggle but it sounds delicious!! We're going to make some later this week, after our neighbourhood Christmas tree lighting. I plan to make it in the crockpot so it's waiting ready for us as we walk in the door. I'm going to try this recipe (http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Wassail-Punch/Detail.aspx).

Some teas give me a stomach ache. I'm trying several different ones.

Do I remember right that you have corn issues? (please correct me if I am wrong)....lots of teas have corn in them(esp. flavored ones) or it is on the bag.

I don't think I have corn issues anymore.

i love teas, herbal and fruity ones are my favorites. The Celestial seasons Fruit sampler pack is almost always in my tea drawer. Hot coco is also a big one now that it is winter

Maybe loose tea in a little tea ball? Green tea and white tea are pretty good. I'm not so sure about stevia...I usually go for unsweetened, or raw honey. Or a splash of fruit juice for flavor, though the heat ruins any vitamin C. Actually, in a pinch, hot water with a splash of juice can make a good faux "herbal tea."
