I created a new bulb bed this year, and mulched it with shredded bark. Yeah, don't do that if you live near a bunch of people who let their cats roam. So nasty. Jesse likes to help work in that little garden. :sick
Any ideas? Short of rigging a motion activated sprinkler? :shifty

I haven't really heard of anything...motion operated sprinklers would be sweet though :giggle

Keeping it moist if that won't hurt your plants helps. I used little sticks and branches and stuck them in the ground every few inches also. If the cat doesn't have a place to scratch, they won't use that spot.

cover the bed in chicken wire. :shifty You could hide it under a thin layer of mulch.
