I haven't planted any in a long time. I have tulips and daffodils that come up each year. And grape hyacinths, but they don't really do much because they seem to get walked on too much.
I have a grouping of 4 maple trees where I've mulched a big area all around them, and have some hostas planted. In the spring it's just this huge expanse of bare mulch because the hostas are kind of late in coming up. I think it would look really pretty to plant some bulbs in there and let them naturalize, but I can't stand the raggedy look of half dead tulip and daffodil leaves. Any suggestions for something I can plant in there that either stay green all summer, or dry up faster than tulips and daffs?
