While sealing my jars yesterday, one of the lids got what looks like a crinkle in it. the jar is still sealed, no popping when you press the lid or anything. Do you think it safe to use?

I would, but then, I used to can in the "do not use" glass jars. :lol

Honestly, if it has a tight seal, I wouldn't worry-maybe just make sure that ones in the front of the stash? so it gets used first?

I'd use it sooner than later...

Sounds like it sealed so well that the lid gave out...which means that it's really *not* so well sealed anymore.

Thanks! that's what I was thinking we would do.

So then- would you use 1/2 gallon jars to do peaches or tomato sauce? Guidelines say no, but I've read you can, just add 20 minutes to steam time.
I've also heard that you can reuse the lids if you paint paraffin around them. (cheap I know, but part of the reason we are canning is economics, second to health reasons)
