Our Bichon, Daisy

After a long battle with seizures (due to a liver stint), Daisy The Doodle Bug passed on tonight.

She started to seize, and I went in and put my hand on her and told her it was OK to run home to Jesus... and, I'm not kidding, she started peddling her little legs, took a breath, and was gone. :cry

It's been a rough few months since she got really bad... and a really tough 2 weeks of dogie hospice once we could no longer let her go outside (she kept eating rocks!)...

Here she is w/ Em in all her grubby glory back in the fall of '07, before she started getting sick...

I am so very sorry for your loss, yet so glad that she was in the comfort of her own home with her people around at the end.

How's Em holding up? :hugheart

Em's doing very well... I think it was a little easier this time (we lost our first dog in Dec. tragically) because we all knew it was coming and was unavoidable.

Em collected all Daisy's silly clothing and made a cushion from them in the bottom of a box. The girls drew pictures and wrote all over it and we wrapped her in her favorite blanket and put her in. Today, in the pouring rain, DH and I dug a large hole for her. Emily was actually quite pleased with the weather - she said it made the funeral more dramatic... like in an old movie! :giggle

We're gonna miss her a ton... but it's so much better not to be stressing over her suffering.
