My front loader stinks!

How do I clean it? The clothes are coming out smelling like wet dog. :sick

Mine does too. I really dislike my front loader and I can't wait for it to die so I can get a top-loader.

My understanding is that they can get mold growing inside them. Check the seal around the door for mold. And do you remember to drain that little plug down the bottom? (Cause I often forget.)

yeah, you kind of have to clean out between the layers of the rubber. :sick

This seems to be a common problem with front loaders...there was a story on the news about it. Apparently, water does not drain 100% and becomes stagnant.

Are you using liquid detergent? I read in several places that liquid detergents contributed to the stink. I switched to powder and it went away completely :shrug

I've never had a real stink issue either. I did have some mold/mildew in the rubber seal at one point but that went away once I started leaving the door open. I actually only leave it open for a couple of hours to dry and then close it again.

OK, I'm about to try scrubbing out the door seal. I haven't ever drained the plug in the bottom :O but just found the instructions which have a maintenance section which tells me about draining stuff...:O again!
