Good morning, Ladies :cool
Last day before the weekend - when everyone will be home, so let's get a few key things done so that you can enjoy the weekend. :cheer
We'll start with the regular things - note that I've added a few items here, so that if all you (we ;)) do are the dailies, then at least it will account for some basics in each room :tu
Daily Activities:
5 minute challenge participation
dishes (at least some)
laundry (at least some)
Your new habit
Return 10 things to their appropriate homes, enlist your kids' help as appropriate
20-minute kitchen recovery
20-minute living space recovery
15-minute bathroom recovery
Clutter Busters
Two Do List
The RECOVERY items should include making the room comfortably presentable - if your spouse brought someone home unannounced or if a friend stopped by unexpectedly, you'd feel comfortable with the fact that your rooms have a basic tidiness to them :mrgreen
Challenge One: Pick the one you didn't do yesterday, or choose Option 3 :grin
Option 1 - Homeschooling Areas
Take 20 minutes to sort and organize your supplies, books and the area where you all spend your time - enlist your kids help with this if that is appropriate. Allocate shelves / baskets / bins for things that tend to get used a lot and toss those things in there at the end of the Homeschooling Day :)
Take another 20 - 30 minutes to organize Lesson Planning - this may include writing out what's coming up or preparing things for the next day / later in the week.
Option 2 - Kids' Bedrooms / Play Areas
Take 20 - 30 minutes to tidy up - definitely enlist the little ones' help here so that they can start to learn where things go and the importance of picking things up and all those good things ;)
Allocate shelves / baskets / bins for toys and books and favorites.
Maybe you need to sift and sort so there are fewer toys - some they've outgrown or aren't using right now. Create a box of goodies for rotation and a box of goodies to put aside for when you need to make dinner or take a phone call. That can be a *special* box that they only get to get into / go through when you need them to be busy with something :heart
Option 3 - Dining Room / Living Room (or family room)
Time to tidy, tidy, tidy up the places you spend a lot of time. Clear off surfaces and gather anything that does NOT belong in these rooms - no laundry to be folded, no books stacked around, no coats or sweaters or hats or gloves or other extraneous clothes that should be hanging elsewhere.
Look around. What can you do to make this space inviting? After the kids are in bed tonight, is there a comfy, cozy space for you and your husband to hang out and catch up?
And what about that dining room table? Does it need a little attention - taking everything off of it and wiping it down. Do the place mats or table cloth need to go in the laundry? The chairs need a bit of attention from food being dropped on them?
Focus on the table where you eat dinner and the place you are most likely to curl up after the kids go to bed. Make that your priority and go from there.
And don't forget to spend some focused time with your little ones today - read a story or two, sing some songs, play on the floor - connect with your little one(s) :heart
And, the new habit - giving God part of the best part of your day - through prayer and reading His Word :amen
