I've tried making homemade bread. Whole wheat, white and sour dough. I don't like it. It's too dense and has a funny taste to me. Is it my recipie, preperation and/or just something I have to get use to?

Got a good recipie?

my whole wheat bread with store bought flour wasn't good, no matter what I did. Fresh ground flour makes really good ww bread though.

Have you tried the 5 minute bread?

I seen the other thread. But it was a round bread. Can I make it a rectangle loaf?

you can make it however you want. you put the 5 minute bread on a pizza stone, not in a pan. ;)

I do the 5 minute Artisan bread in normal bread pans.

I still put the water in the bottom of the oven. I just divide the dough in half, and do some turning-under like it says to do with the round loaves, then I place each half in a greased bread pan and bake for the same amount of time as the recipe calls for.

Also, when I remove the bread from the pans once it's done, if I want softer bread (the 5 min bread is SOOOO crusty) I just immediately wrap it in foil. This makes the outside nice and soft.
