Would expired yeast still rise fine, but taste bad? I made bread with year old yeast that had been in the fridge. It rose fine, but had a sour taste to it. I also used 2 cups of store bought wheat flour, and I have gotten sour taste from the wheat flour in the past. I'm just wondering which one it is.... :think

I'm supposed to make bread for supper with my family tonight...

I ended up using new yeast and only white flour for my rolls last night. They were perfect. :O

I still would like to know about my question, tho.
