Got a great deal on a bunch of tomatoes and peppers? Can I make salsa and freeze it?

Just my normal tomatoes, peppers, onions, cilantro, lime juice, salt is okay? No cooking needed?

Yep. That is all I have put in. I usually freeze in a Zip Lock or have used canning jars as well. I usually add fresh extra cilantro when it is thawed.

You can freeze stuff in canning jars?? Sorry to go OT, but DH and I were just talking tonight about freezing our leftover soup, but since we did away with all
plastic storage containers, I was in a quandry over what to put it in. Canning jars won't crack as it solidifies? Do you have to use special jars made for freezing?

Now back to your regularly scheduled thread....

You have to make sure to leave enough room expansion.
