I'm making either newborn or small longies- I've got a 16" waist. What is generally a good rise and what is a good leg length?

It's totally cute- dark green, with a cream colored fair isle design. If anyone wants to buy it, let me know; otherwise I'll either toss it onto my totally neglected Etsy store, or my totally neglected HC store.

15 or 16 rise for small I would say.....7-8 leg? You should make them cuffable.

Newborn longies would be 14-15" waist, 14-15" rise and 6-7" inseam, on the smaller side if you want them true newborn. Small would be on the larger side of the range which would fit newborns but would grow in those early months as well.

They felt way too small when I was making newborn longies. But, they fit perfectly when he was born. The 13-14" waist actually fit best, but he was a 6lb. And, even the 6" inseam had to be folded up initially.

Thanks! :heart Yeah, I was going to make it a little generous in the leg; these longies have a little "give" in them anyway. I think I'll do a 16" rise and an 8-ish leg.
