In a way, I'm relatively new to knitting, because all I knitted for years was garter stitch scarves. :giggle This is only the second wool soaker that I have ever made! But it was really simple and easy... I really really LOVE knitting! :rockon

The sheep were from a chart I made myself that was inspired by the Baby Sheep Hat made by Melissa at Indigo Mouse (http://indigomouse.net/) (look in her free patterns links on the ride sidebar), which was inspired by the Sheep Yoke Baby Cardigan (http://lookingglassknits.blogspot.com/2007/10/sheep-yoke-baby-cardigan-pattern.html) made by Jen at Looking Glass Knits (http://lookingglassknits.blogspot.com/).

The pattern is the free Flowerpot Tots shorties pattern, which can be found here (http://mrsflowerpot.blogspot.com/2008/08/free-shorties-and-longies-pattern.html). I really love the shape and fit of these shorties and I definitely plan on making many more from this pattern.

thank you for the pattern link!! That shortie patern is a little advanced for me, but I'm going to print it off today at the library, go to my local yarn shop and ask for help. My friend also knows how to knit better than I so she can help interpret the couple things that are confusing me too.

I almost didn't reply because I am so humbled by my meager knitting attempts, but then I remembered that I can like knitting, even if my shorties are not so special. Not that yours are "all that" or anything. I mean, I know lots of knitters that can do that, or, at least a couple (ok, one). But just because your baby is adorable and the shorties are perfect and amazing doesn't give you the right to KNOCK mine!
YOUKNOW! MINE ARE BROWN BUT THEY ARE *ORGANIC* hows that 4 green. ?Yeah your shep are all WE HAVE GREEN GRASS AND BLUE SKY - but is it really REALLY? SO GET OFF MY BACK ALREADY with your little sheepy-shorties.
