Do you think a 5 y/o can do a latch hook or learn to do basic crochet? E is always wanting new crafts & I need some longer project ideas. Other ideas?

She is a perfectionist, but she is fairly patient.

if she's patient, then latch-hooking would be great!

what about:
scrapbooking, decoupage, paper making... all depends how "messy" you or her want to get :grin

well, we got a latch hook, but I told her if it is too hard we will put it aside for now.

I also got her one of those little looms that make pot holders. She likes that so far.

what is decoupage?

paper making looks neat, but it seems to have too many special tools. :think

i should teach her card making. :doh

I learned how to crochet and quilt when I was 4-5.... of course I had a very patient grandmother who taught me.... she also taught me how to boil water in a tea kettle to make instant oatmeal... like I said, very patient and calm grandmother. :)
