Her dress is too puffy

This is what I've been working on, the sundress for dd. I also made a necklace and will hopefully get a tiara done for her first birthday, and a cape with her name on it. I know, I know, it's a gauge problem but I refuse to frog it. It took me so long, I'm hoping that if I just change the edging and straps and sew the armholes a little higher up, it will be okay. What do you all think?

I'm thinking of a site where I found a child's hat. The pattern maker was remembering her son Gage. I had to chuckle because as all crocheters/knitters know, remembering gauge is very important.
