My kids found an arts and craft book in the bookshelf. It had instructions on how to use cardboard and make a lap loom. They are now weaving coaster and pot holders galore.
It wouldn't be so bad if they weren't both leaving scraps of yarn all over the house AND raiding my yarn stash to get more yarn :doh
C made me look for a real loom online. We found a lap loom for $40 from a natural toy company. He's got $30 so he's planning on saving the rest buying a lap loom for himself.
