I've been thinking of putting in a flu garden in the front since some of the plants are beautiful and can be decorative. Has anybody ever done one before? What do you put in it?

But you're asking about plants that would be useful in treating the flu that you can grow in your own garden, right?

The first one that comes to mind is echinacea. You harvest the root of that one. I will have to ponder some more since none are coming to me. Oh, Elder. You harvest the berries, and in the springtime the flowers are so pretty. And garlic. The flowers of those are pretty too, I think. :)

I'll give it some more thought. :think Oh, catnip enemas can hydrate and reduce fever. Yarrow is also diaphoretic and so useful for fevers. But you want the yellow wild yarrow, that's the most potent.

Oh, and marshmallow has a pretty pinky white flower, and the root is useful for calming an upset tummy/throat (from vomiting/diarrhea)
