Fixing a moses basket

Friends leant us a Moses Basket when N was born. It worked great on the changing table for a few months--no worries about him rolling out if I stepped away for a moment. I need to return it to them but there's a broken section along the edge where the big kids would lean over to kiss and talk to N when he was there. I want to fix it before returning it to them. Any ideas about how to do that?

Can you take a picture of the damage? THat might give us a better idea of what to suggest. :)
