Installing a shower?

How hard is it to install a shower? I mean, I have a tub and faucet but not a shower ykwim? I'd love to have a shower and I could get the shower head/faucet kit for $100 or less. But....How hard will it be to put it in? I'll have to get one of those shower curtain rods that goes around the whole tub and a curtain (or 2) as well. Anybody every done such a thing?

You have to make a hole in the wall to access the plumbing. If it's old it could break or leak and they have even more work.

If you guys are handy it might not be bad :shrug
