View Full Version : Help! Can you help me save this loaf of bread?

I did my machine's whole wheat bread recipe (different from the last one I did).
The only change I made was that it called for 2 T molasses and 1T brown sugar, and I just used 3T molasses. Now it's so sticky that it's not really stirring it. Some is stuck to the side, and earlier I found a pocket of flour in the bottom corner. Would a little water help, or should I just pull the plug before it messes up my machine?
I'm going to try to stir it again and add a little water, (because I put 11 oz and it called for 10-12). But please if you have insight for now or the future, since I want to avoid sugar, please let me know!

Oh. I forgot the vital wheat gluten. :doh I knew it was too good to be true when my first loaf was perfect.

if it's too sticky, it needs a bit more flour :hug2

So do you think it would work with 3T molasses if I remembered the gluten next time? That's 1-1/2 T more of a flour in there. :scratch I hate to ruin another 4 cups of WW flour, you know.
