I add ground flax seeds to my bread and roll it in oatmeal to keep it from sticking and because it looks sooo pretty!

Oh, I wish I could get my family to eat bread like that! It sounds so good. :heart They don't like "additives."

I make oat flour by grinding whole oats in the blender - about 1 1/4 c oats make 1 c flour. I add that to my bread and lots of other baked goods. Since oats don't have any gluten, you have to keep them to under 30% of the total flour in the recipe or the bread won't rise. It's a sneaky way to get more whole grains in my family's diet. :giggle

Ground flax seed is sooo good in homemade bread. Almost gives it a nutty flavor. I was thinking about adding some to banana bread; anyone know if that would be good?

We love oatmeal bread the best. It smells so good when it's cooking, too.
