Ants on my green beans...

So there's tiny ants climbing up my green bean trellis. Are the ants bad for the green beans? Should I try to get rid of them? If so, how do I do that without damaging the plants?

1 of my 4 green bean plants died yesterday...so maybe they're eating it? Would a squirt bottle with dish soap and water work do you think?
