I made a batch of tomato sauce for pasta the other night. I tried a new recipe, and I only put in like 3/4 of the sugar it called for, but it is way too sweet.
DH loved it. He kept going on about how wonderful it was. I was happy because usually he does not like the tomato/pasta sauce I make. But the kids and I hated it!
I made a big batch, too.
I was cooking it, and tasted it, and it was too sweet, so I tried to add more tomatoes and spices and water to cut the sweetness, but it was still too sweet.
Now, I need to figure out how to make it palatable so that DH still likes it but the rest of us can eat it.
Or what to use it on/with so that we don't have to taste it so much!
Any ideas?

I might separate half of it out for dh and then add double the tomato sauce and extra basil (but I love basil, you might prefer oregano ;) ) and garlic to tone down the sweetness.
