says that I need to boil the bagels in a dutch oven. Is it at all possible to just use a pot of water? Excuse my ignorance on the subject of dutch ovens.

How did your bagels come out?
I am thinking about trying to make some, but I am not sure if the cost savings will be worth the effort unless they taste really good.

Yeah definitely a regular pot. Amy I love making bagels and considering you get real bagels and not those dough bombs people like to pass off as bagels it's worth it.

I've tried two recipes that are a bit different in degrees of involvement and yet produce chewy yet crusty bagels.

They turned out great! I made a dozen and I think they were gone in two days :lol.
