how to keep squirrels out of flower pots? HELP!

We only have beans and peas, and they are in pots since we live in an apartment and have nowhere to plant. EVERY single morning when I go out to water them the squirrels have dug around in the pots. I've lost a LOT of seeds and some plants and it's just ridiculous. Now I have some sticks & twine up in the pots for the plants to grow up, but the squirrels still climb in and dig. :banghead any way to stop them?

I've heard of people having success by hanging rotating CD's above their gardens. (Near the plant level.) Apparently the movement and reflection is startling to squirrels.
