I'm making Tuna sandwiches and homemade Veggie soup for dinner I have the soup on right now
Its a veggie broth stock (just from a box) and in it I have onion red potatos carrots and spinach and some garlic salt pepper and some Parsly for seasoning it "good" but still lacking that comfort taste KWIM? I have about 1/2 cup of elbow Mac I'm going to add at the end but is there any way I can add a little something? I don't want to add meat as we don't do meat on Fridays (obviously we do do fish) but I don't mind dairy or such...

My mom used to do a soup like that, but stirred a cheese sauce into it at the end. It was good stuff! :yum

I usually add celery to my soup. A little instant mashed potatoes makes it a little thicker. :shifty

my mom adds allspice (the whole kind) or you can in a pinch add whole peppercorns. The allspice gives it a really deep flavor that goes well with chicken or veggie broth soups.
