What are the 18 uses? It doesn't say on the label. And what are these moral ABCs and all the mumbo jumbo about all in one all over the package? Enlighten me?

Heh. I just read a really interesting article about that. One of his sons continues the business. It is some sort of religious thing he subscribed to; I mostly ignore it. If I remember where I read the article I'll let you know...

ok the links confirm that I am not the only one a little skeeved out by the rantings all over the label.....BUT I found no mention of the 18 uses. I have the "hemp" version that says it is gentle enough for babies and unscented. I bought it to use on my hair. Anyway it says 18 uses in 1 bottle on it. I wanna know the 18 uses. :grin

I've used it for EVERYTHING.

Hair, skin, all household surface cleaning (except windows), laundry, teeth (yucky, but works!), pets...

I ignore the ranting... I've used it since I was a kid.

I don't know if this was mentioned in the other posts, but dh does not allow it in the house because of the heretical labeling..

We use a generic brand of the same thing :-)

Im gonna have to go back and look throught links :giggle
I ignore the labeling too. Its to strange for even me :no
After I stopped using regular baby soaps on my kids I switched to the baby bronners you have. They have used it for :think 2/3 years maybe. I use to wash their hair and body with it for the majority of the years. Now I use california baby on their hair and bronners on their body. I would keep using it on their hair but the cal.baby perks up the curls better. I just started doing that.
I tried to use it on my hair like I did with the kids but it didnt turn out the same for me. Not sure why honestly.
But since soap is soap you could use any of the bronners for everything, even the one you have. Just a matter of preference and if your skin is sensitive to some of the ingredients in the others. Even when my kids were sensitive to coconut they did great with the baby bronners. It was the only thing that didnt irritate them so thats what we stuck with for these years.
Eta: malakoa! what is its generic brand!!!!??????

I should have said store brand. You can get it at Trader Joes. But any "Pure Castile Soap" is the same thing.

This article from the straight dope is funny (but old - 1993)
http://www.straightdope.com/classics/a3_386.html

Bronner wants to convince mankind of the virtues of the "All-One-God-Faith," which, together with the "Moral ABC," his answer to the Ten Commandments, will unite the human race. The details of this can be a bit hard to follow. For example: "Replace half-true Socialist-fluoride poison & tax-slavery with full-truth, work-speech-press & profitsharing Socialaction! All-One! So, help build 4 billion Hannibal wind-power plants, charging 96 billion battery-banks, powering every car-factory-farm-home-monorail & pump, watering Babylon-roof-gardens & 800 billion Israel-Milorganite fruit trees, guarded by Swiss 6000 year Universal Military Training," etc.

The label reminds me alot of my internship in a psychiatric center. That was the kind of thing I'd hear in regular conversation when I worked there, it was normal. So it doesn't bother me at all, and I'm loving the soap!

Anyway there's a gallon for $40 on Amazon. How long would that last, like a year? :giggle

I got 3 bottles at a discount/mark-down grocer awhile back for $1-$2 a big bottle. An almond one, a peppermint one and a lavender one(my favorite--I shoulda got all lavender).
I recently made some all-purpose cleaner using the lavender. Mmmmm, smells delightful!

Fifteen years ago all eighteen uses were printed, including one for birth control. They got in a little bit of trouble for that, I imagine, so they can't print them any more.
