All that I have left to do is water it, but I need to wait until the evening so the sun doesn't kill them. I have May Night Salvia, Pink Heather, Nanho Butterfly Bush, Gerbara Daisies, Violas, & somthing else. All the card said is "Assorted Annual". That's not helpful. LOL. I already had planted a rose bush (bottom right) and then there were two things that I planted last year with a Seed Ballz (http://www2.yardiac.com/long.asp?item_id=38518&tgs=13782619:26416596&cart_id=) that came up again this year. Anyway, here's before:

Looks fabulous! Tell me about how that butterfly bush turns out. I planted one at our old place from a stick-looking thing (root?) and we moved before I could see what it turned into. Dh's gma has three of them and they're *huge* - like trees! So I'm not sure what to expect, yk?

According to the tag that came on the bush, their average size is 4' by 4'.

:think Yeah, J's grandmas are over 10' tall, so maybe it's the variety you buy. :shrug

Are the "Assorted Annual's" the pink ones on the lower rightish in the second picture? If so, I think they are dianthus. :)

Looking good!

I worked out my herb/kitchen garden on paper tonite and will plant outside/start some inside tomorrow, weather permitting.

Yes! That's what they are! They had a sign up at Lowe's, but by thetime I got home, I couldn't remember what they were and the tag wasn't too helpful. Thank you! :-) Hope picked them out. She begged me to get them. They only had them in a huge flat, though....guess I better go research them a bit, huh?

Some of mine come back each year, some don't. I think it depends on how cold it gets each winter and how protected they are. I am thinking that they might live thru the winter, being next to your house like that. I know they reseed themselves too, so you might have to thin them out in a few years.

Oooh it's gorgeous! I was wondering, though, do you need to keep them shaded the first couple days? I was reading in the square foot gardener that new plants should be shaded until they adjust. Anybody know anything about that?
