Since I doubt I'll get done and pics posted before the board closes, I thought I'd tease you all with a picture of the R2D2 cake I'm making for SMH and Tigerlily's DH's birthday party. It's not done, but the crumb coat is on, and it's chilling now. :rockon

That is fabulous!  My boys know what they want for their Sept. b'days now.  Are those layers 8 in. in diameter?  Did you bake the top in a glass bowl? Can't wait to see the finished cake!  :rockon

I was running short on time, so the details are sloppy. :O

Those are 8-inch rounds, and I baked the dome in the small dome part of my Bake and Fill pan set. I filled it with a cream filling mixture of cream cheese, cool whip :bag, and powdered sugar.

mmmmm, that cream cheese/coolwhip frosting sounds delish no matter what ingredients it has. Cream cheese frostings and all their variations are my weakness and since hubby doesn't like cream cheese I'm FORCED to eat it all on my own. :P~

That looks great though! My lack of attention span would have me sidetracked right after the crumb coat.

I adore cream cheese frostings. :yum And fortunately for my attention span, I did the cakes and crumb coat on Friday night, and didn't get the rest of it done until about an hour before the party. Once the crumb coat was on, it went pretty quickly. :phew
