Okay, so it is a bit late to be asking this, based on the burny smell now permeating my apartment, but anyone have any advice on how to use the self-cleaning oven function. I just turned it on, the door locked automatically and it seems to be off and running. I know it's supposed to burn all the goo in the oven to ashes but is my house supposed to smell like it's on fire?!!! I just opened a window and it is freezing outside.

Help.

I've only ever once had a self cleaning oven, but I remember it stunk to high heaven when I used the cleaning function. Can you go to the mall/park/coffee shop for a bit until it is finished?

I may have to. I'm sort of annoyed, because this is MUCH worse than the smell of Easy Off. I'm a little worried about my birds though. I don't need them suffocating.

Yeah, but this is just burning food vs. Easy Off which is chemically.

Can you move your birds somewhere else in the house? (Or take them to the coffee shop :giggle )

:giggle You're funny. I can see my budgie with a tiny cup of coffee right now. :P~
