Er... I had to boil some milk for a pudding recipe, and I totally burned it onto the bottom of the pan. Most has come off, and I've been soaking and using elbow grease on the rest but... it's not all gone.

Anyone know some cunning cleaner or other thing i can use to get it off? It's one of my mos useful pans...

try boining some water in the pan with about 1/2 cup of baking soda mixed in..boil, then let it sit for a few hours--depending on the type of pan, this might work. (I burned the white sauce for a mac and cheese to the bottom of one of my creuset pans, and this worked like a dresm (they are cast iron with an enamel finish).
hope this helps.

mr. clean magic eraser maybe? It is the cleaner of last resort around here:)

If that doesn't work, my mom used to boil water and cascade dishwasher powder and it *always* got *everything* off.

I'm going to go try that baking soda tip. I burned potato soup to the bottom of my biggest pan really bad. I'm not sure what I'm sadder about - the burned pan or the ruined dinner! :no2
