I am going to make my own laundry soap and the recipe that I got from a thread here says to use washing soda. Any ideas on where to get this or is there a good substitute? I have checked the grocery store, but no luck.

My grocery sells it, and I don't know what else to suggest. :scratch I found the wikipedia article on it interesting since I have a laundry fetish. :giggle http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Washing_soda

I have only seen it at one Kroger around here, but it's an arm and hammer product right in the laundry section with the borax and other "specialty" laundry products. YOu could prob'ly get it online.

I was able to call this number to find it - 1-800-524-1328 I'm not sure if it still works though :shrug

We have checked several stores so far and can't find it. Although, I haven't checked Fry's yet (owned by Kroger).

From doing a bit of research, apparently there is a pool product that can be used (it's just sodium carbonate). People that can't get their hands on the A&H Washing Soda use this instead.

Shipping for the A&H is $5 and the product is only like $4.50...so I would really hate to pay that much.
