I guess that sums up the question ;) . My DS is 4 and I'm thinking he's ready to learn how to make calls, but of course am nervous that he'll start calling people randomly LOL. I do want him to know how to call my parents, his dad, and 911 in an emergency. Is that a lot for his age? :shrug

I have only a cordless phone, but am thinking of getting a push-button with the emergency numbers on speed dial to make it easier. What did you do?

Abbott is three and knows how to dial and answer the phone. I don't let him answer unless I'm sure of who it is ;) and don't let him dial without permission. But he has grandma's number memorized and will call her occasionally just to chat. :)

around 3-5--when they can speak clearly they can answer the phone :)

We let them talk on the p hone to grandparents, etc. at 3 or so.

Answering the phone - 5.5 or 6. We have a business out of our home, so we are very fussy about
phone manners. Also, the call coming in could have any number of reasons for calling or questions they
might ask regarding my husband's business, so it isn't really simple for them to answer the phone and know what to do.
