Last night my middle dd (7yo) was bumping my oldest dd's(12yo) chair over and over in spite of having been asked nicely to STOP. I was tired of it and I looked at her and said, in my BIG VOICE, "STOP THAT NOW!"

She totally crumbled in a heap. I can not use the command voice with her. I know this. I was just over it :bag I didn't even comfort her.

So, my youngest dd(5yo) comes to me and says, "mommy, can we have a snuggle and watch HGTV?" and that sounded good to me, frazzled as I was.

When we got into my room, she said "You know Mommy, I think Abbi needs this snuggle more, you were pretty harsh to her a minute ago, I'll go get her."

:melt

Yea. she was right, both about the harshness and the snuggle.

Ah, that kills me because I have so overused my big voice today & I just know what it does to dd1.

You know, you might have temporarily blown it with one, but clearly you've taught the other one something. A round about Way to Go to you, Momma.
