(said this morning by my 4yo son...)

"You have 2 choices, Mom..."

(...having obviously observed the technique of "offering 2 acceptable choices" at work in our home...)

"...you can turn on the TV, or bring me the remote" :giggle

My ds says "which do YOU choose?" regularly. :giggle

And I just wanted to add how wonderful it is that our children are picking up on and imitating gentle/positive discipline skills instead of fear-based/punitive ones. :happytears :heart

"Um, I'll take the preemptive choice of having a child with two working legs."

But that is fantastic! (My dc aren't reading this, are they?)

well, my response back was

"Ds, you have 2 choices, you can turn the tv on, or go get the remote"

then we started changing the choices and ended up in giggles :giggle

p.s. in the end, i ended up tossing him the remote, since he was buried under his lunch on the couch ;)

:lol Cute. One day my 4 y/o ds said, after I told him to do something, "Mom, I already gave you my answer." :hunh :giggle
