I've always wondered why people would take parenting advice from people who aren't parents.

Hathor is too funny. :lol

:lol

I take this to be a dig on SuperNanny or Nanny To the Rescue. I've always wondered what it would be like if Joe had a baby... :think

Wow, that's really good! (and sad). I've only see a few episodes of those shows. Do they really encourage weaning?? :hunh

Yes, one of the shows I'm not sure which one, encourages weaning if the child is over a year. So they will sleep better. :no2

"Mothers should be teaching mothers, not nannies."

There was a Supernanny episode in which Supernanny "encourages" the mother to wean the 14-month-old and stop co-sleeping with her, let her CIO. The 14-month-old wasn't sleeping well I don't think (probably cutting molars), and the mother had three older children who were all unruly and she was beating them with a broom.

There were definitely some issues in that house but the toddler nursing had nothing to do with it. I'm not sure why Supernanny thought that was the solution. :/
