I want to can spaghetti sauce from tomatoes in my garden. But I want to do one full batch (20lbs) of them all at once..
So can I freeze my ripe tomatoes while I wait to have enough? If so, should I chop them up, or puree or ? Thanks.

:yes My dad freezes his tomatoes. He chops them or purees them and puts them in Ziploc Freezer bags. He uses a straw to make sure all of the air is out :)

I just saw this... sorry... I freeze mine whole... and when you defrost them the skins peel right off and they are the consistency of canned whole tomatoes... great for making sauce.

Have you made your sauce? I was just looking up a recipe to can marinara... I have a question I'll ask in another thread.
