i told my dad something nik said yesterday
nik told me he wanted a diaper to go poop
and i thought it was silly, and told him to use the potty
but my dad said "well that's dumb!"
:hunh what in the world is dumb about it?
all i could think to say was nik was being silly, not dumb!
how in the world could that be interpreted as dumb?!?! especially from a child who's only been using the potty to poo for about 3-4mts, and for about a yr before that used only diapers to poo.
i could even say he was testing a boundary (mildly, since he's started using the potty 100% the diapers are all put up/gone), but its not like he was demanding a diaper, he asked once in a sheepish little way, that's all! that is NOT DUMB!!!!! :banghead

Oh, bah! Maybe it's that generation - they seemed to take potty training very seriously and the earlier the better. My IL's had lots of interesting things to say about my DS's and another grandchild's "late" potty training (as in age 3 instead of 1 or 2) :rolleyes

If I had a dollar for every time DH's grandmother told me all four of her children were potty-trained by their first birthday... :no
