we're finishing out the upstairs of our house--putting in a nursery, guest bedroom and bathroom--and I am looking for guest bedroom bedding. it would be ideal to paint the guest bedroom at the same time we paint the nursery (in a couple of weeks), before we put carpeting in. but I can't choose paint colors until I have fabric decided. I really love the chocolate brown and robin's-egg-blue/aqua combination. I've been looking everywhere online but haven't found anything I love so far. thought I would post in case someone else has seen something recently? thanks :)

that's cute--it looks awfully similar to something I saw several months ago and liked!
but, on my screen at least, it doesn't look blue at ALL...definitely looks almost sage-y green. hmm.

I have a coverlet, shams, throw pillows, and window sheers that I absolutely ADORE from World Market....
The coverlet and shams (http://www.worldmarket.com/bed-and-bath/bedding/quilts/Aqua--Java-Brown-Reversible-Bedding/lev/4/productId/4132/Ne/1100001/Ns/NEW_ARRIVAL_FLAG|1||CATEGORY_SEQ_3108|0/N/1100252/Nty/1/view/10000/index.pro) (reversible! :tu)

...the throw pillows (http://www.worldmarket.com/bed-and-bath/bedding/quilts/Chandra-Cotton-Bedding/lev/4/productId/5805/Ne/1100001/Ns/NEW_ARRIVAL_FLAG|1||CATEGORY_SEQ_3108|0/N/1100252/Nty/1/view/10000/index.pro) I bought separately.

And the curtains were a light aqua (same shade as coverlet) crinkle voile tie-top set.

Some day I will find a dust ruffle that I like to top it all off. :think

I love chocolate brown and any shade of blue. That is really a hot color combo right now (my friend has a bomb-diggity dress that is chocolate with light aqua floral all over) and I have a knock-off Vera Bradley purse that has those shades. I'm so NOT the fashion girl, usually I'm rather frumpy :giggle but sometimes I get it right. :lol

Be sure to share pics with us when you're done! It sounds like it will be beautiful.

Oh, and if you like the World Market stuff, you might want to shop around their website. Looks like they have some pretty good sales, and there are other items in those same colors (there is a sheer India-looking curtain that is a darker aqua that is really cool).

THAT (http://www.kohls.com/products/product_page_multiple0.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=432 285649&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=4107737&bmUID=1182794792580) is the dust ruffle I need!!! The one Tanya just linked to. I think that all comes as a set, though. :think Oh well.

Back to the thread at hand.... :grin

Crate and Barrel has some really cute options...I'm not sure how plain or patterned you want to go, but they have several in at least one or the other of those colors. Here's the one I love but can't afford right now - it's both your colors:

http://www.crateandbarrel.com/family.aspx?c=1624&f=12196

You can always add more chocolate brown to the room if you want more, or do 3 walls blue and an accent wall in brown, etc. Just ideas. :o)

I love the color combo- it's what I have in my bedroom! :rockon Here's the duvet cover I have: http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/ref=br_1_1/601-1244927-8131342?ie=UTF8&frombrowse=1&asin=B000FSWB68

It's hard to see, but there's a very subtle tone-on-tone swirl pattern that's very pretty. I also have the matching shams.

For the blue contrast, I have some decorative pillows in browns and aqua blues both on the bed & in an arm chair in the corner of the room, as well as a blue vase and some other accents. The walls have a chair rail, so the rail and below are painted that same rich chocolate brown, and above the rail is a cafe au lait color- soooo pretty and relaxing, IMO. :yes

I hope you find what you're looking for!

I totally want to do this! BUT...I am afraid painting a wall chocolate brown will close the room in too much--it is a small attic room with sloped ceiling and only one small window :/

Ooooh, pick me! Pick me! :) (Shrek.. :lol :lol :lol)

Check out Restoration Hardware! My BFF just got this set and it's SO gorgeous!

ETA: I just realized that "BFF" may look like "boyfriend." :nails :lol So, for anyone who isn't an 80s child :giggle, BFF = Best Friend Forever (who, I suppose in reality, really is my DH (to whom I am married... I don't live with my boyfriend :P~)), so I should have written my girl-BFF.... but that may have been more confusing... I just meant my really good friend who is a girl. ;)

Ooooooh, those are all so pretty!! I love the blue hydrangea next to the bed in that restoration hardware pic! :tu

Schmamy, the way you describe your room, I wonder if you could do all 4 walls in the blue shade, and use a solid chocolate bedcover, with accent colors. :think Maybe some long chocolate curtain panels next around the small window, to make it look longer, and bring in the chocolate color to your walls without painting a whole wall brown. :think

Just some ideas.

Another thing that I like with these colors (i'm kinda quirky this way) is a small "pop" of red. I am working on a wall-hanging for over my bed (we have no headboard) of a large canvas, painted the light aqua, with chocolate vines/leaves and maybe one or two big scarlet poppies on it. :shrug I dunno, we'll see what happens with it, if I EVER get time to work on it. :/ Then with the aqua blue crinkle voile panels, I bought two ruby colored sheers and sort of draped them behind the blue on these little tie backs.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v651/mtnchick/Church001.jpg Oh shoot it's not resizing like I meant for it to (I meant for it to be smaller).
It may look wierd to some people, but it's very relaxing yet ecclectic, to me. Oh, these sheers are all on the same rod, which is not the final plan. I wanted the red and brown on another rod, so the blue can kind of spread out and cover them a little (they would still show through with all the light we get in that area of the upstairs.)

JessicaTX--funny that you found that one! that is the only feasible option I had found on my own so far.

I found one other one at Target a while back, and I like it, but it has terrible reviews--everyone said it fell apart at the seams very quickly :(

I like the one on eBay...but I don't LOVE it. I'm being picky, I know. :giggle just holding out for something I really love.

that other one would SO be it, if it wasn't so stinking expensive :(

I like the picture in the sale flyer a lot better, but I think this is the same one I saw. In the sale flyer it looked more like a combo of turqouise and blue.

(There are some other gorgeous brown & blue combos on the Bed, bath & Beyond site as well so you might want to browse a little.)
