Hi,
I'm looking to buy my first AP book, and don't know where to start. I've heard about Dr. Sears' books, but when looking them up on amazon.com there were quite a few....which one do I start with? What are some other books besides Dr. Sears' that are good for first time parents? :)

FYI: I have a friend who made me promise to read BabyWise - I'd love to make her promise to read a (not too extreme) AP book in return....any ideas? ;)

Thanks!
~Molly

I'd have her read Baby Matters (http://www.amazon.com/Baby-Matters-Doctor-About-Caring/dp/0975317008/ref=sr_1_1/103-5855036-4855840?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1179779685&sr=8-1) by Linda F. Palmer.

If you are starting with Sears I'd purchase his "The Baby Book" or "The Discipline Book." Both can often be found for pennies on the dollar at Half Price Books. You just have to search for them and be patient.

I've heard good things from my parents regarding Graced Based Par (http://www.amazon.com/Grace-Based-Parenting-Tim-Kimmel/dp/0849905486/ref=pd_bbs_1/103-5855036-4855840?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1179779958&sr=8-1)enting by Tim Kimmel

I also really enjoyed Playful Parenting (http://www.amazon.com/Playful-Parenting-Lawrence-J-Cohen/dp/0345442865/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/103-5855036-4855840?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1179780013&sr=1-1) by Cohen

Molly just be warned that Babywise will seem to make sense "oh yeah, I should be leading my child...." because he uses manipulative language patterns.

Maybe The Baby Book by Dr. Sears?

This (http://www.amazon.com/Complete-Book-Christian-Parenting-Child/dp/0805461981/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/103-9139002-3106261?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1180150947&sr=8-1)
has an excellent introduction which indirectly addresses Ezzo VERY well.
