(Not sure whether to put this in cooking or here, but I think it applies here the most...although it does have recipes.... :shrug)

I think I may have found what I've been looking for, and it's been right under my nose all along!

Was looking for some sort of detox that is safe when nursing...but most things say not to detox during nursing because the toxins are excreted in breastmilk.

Was looking for an alternative remedy to help with my (sometimes horrid) hayfever symptoms. Especially since the Claritin(which had been working ok) is causing me to be very moody/irritable/hard to focus/short tempered etc.etc.

I don't know if it'll work, but I am figuring it's fairly safe since it's food-based and not herbal and not a fast.
I'm talking about Switchel. :)

Dh and I had tried this drink like before we were even married and we've made it off and on thru the last about 10 years...but we were just doing it because it was like the old-timers used to do it and it is pretty cheap to make. Not for any health benefits or anything.

So anyway, here's some links to Switchel(a version of which we made) and Shrub(which is new to me, but I am thinking of trying it with my lemon balm and maybe peppermint(if I didn't kill it off enough to not have enough for this).

I think our recipe years ago was most like this one.http://www.hillbillyhousewife.com/switchel.htm

For allergy purposes, I am going to use local honey(as long as my supply lasts).

You can do a search and find out lots more...
