ok, so i have this bookshelf in our office/living room and i am trying to come up with cute little decorations for the "theme" of the books :grin

here is a pic of the shelves

here are some examples:

DH's army fiction books, w/ his beret from the 82nd and his jump boots

our fantasy section w/ unicorn family my grandma got for me at an antique shop

foreign language/travel w/ my photo album from italy

NOW, i need some ideas! 2 sections left are some history and army related books, and DH's collection of stephen king books. these are the naked shelves.......

I am just imagining all the different things you could put there for horror. None of them appropriate!

BUT what about a framed map or small globe for your history section?

I think it was a St. bernard. I had one growing up, and a friend of mine was petrified of him because of that movie. The dog would lick you to death before anything else.

What about one of those Jason hockey masks?

DK, I just have to tell you your DH is really, really cute. You changed your pictures a long time ago but I always thought "Man! He is GOOD looking!"

:giggle and :O

I had to get that off my chest sooner or later! :P~

:giggle which one screams "cujo" to you?

LSP - :laughtears i think so too!! and so does he :rolleyes i totally win b/c he was kinda nerdy in high school and the other gals pooh poohed him (i got married young so ya know how people yap). but now who's got the devastatingly gorgeous soldier to swoon over. thats right, ME! :P~ i don't think it's weird that you mention it by the way. i kinda had a crush on one of his co-workers once and he thought i was silly and we laugh about it. we're not weird about stuff like that :giggle

Alright, good! :laughtears

Just don't tell my DH. He already teases me enough about my crush on Matthew McConaughey! Its just the slow, southern accent I tell him! I can't give him any more ammo to use against me!

I see he has The Dark Tower, a rose would be fitting for that book. Since his collection is Stephen King books, I wouldn't necessarily get "horror" decor for the shelf, but things related to Stephen King- maybe frame a dust jacket from a hard cover book (dh's fave, or one you find at a thrift store or used book store), Get some large wooden letters "S" and "K" and paint them an appropriate color. There's also a train in The Dark Tower series (a train that talks). If you really want to go the horror route though, you could always print a pic of Stephen King himself and frame it, :laughtears :jawdrop :shifty :mrgreen
