Vomit and carpet

Dd 2 threw up on the carpet last night. Dh scrubbed at it with dish soap and water, then febreezed the heck out of it. This morning, it's still smells of yuck. The one thing I found to try was to make a baking soda paste and apply that. Anyone have any other ideas? Aside from moving. tia

You know, I keep telling dh we need to clean these rugs, but he says he doesn't want wet floors. Maybe now he will go for it....

Yea, the only thing that got it out of our carpet was a steam cleaner. And we had to do it a couple of times. That vomit smell just sticks.

I heard that a borax paste will get out the smell. I think the info is on the side of the box. Never tried it, just saw it.

I've unfortunately had that experience :(. What worked for us was Bi-O-Kleen Bac-Out and baking soda. We only had a smallish area to deal with, though (it was an "almost made it" kind of deal :rolleyes) and we got it right away. I don't know if it'd work for a large area or the day after :shrug.
