Do I need to take him to the Dr.?

My 4yo has been sick...just runny nose...losing his voice a little bit...slight cough, no fever.....but he has a red lacy looking rash all over his body. Im thinking he might have Fifth Disease...last week he had bright red cheeks. He is running around, playing, talking...but the rash freaks me out!

does that sound like 5th disease...and would he need to go to the Dr?

I don't know anything about fifths disease other than I think it passes on it own...
does scarlet fever rash? I would probably take him in just for a diagnoses and make sure it isn't anything worse.

Even if it is fifth its just viral so nothing they can do. I would save my money if I were you unless he come down with some more alerting symptoms.
