I just burned my fingers pretty badly on a plate as I pulled it out of the oven. They haven't blistered yet, but I'm sure they will. It hurts SOOOO bad. :cry I'm sitting here w/my hand in a bowl of cold water, but as soon as I take it out the burns hurt so bad i cry. :cry Is there anything I can do?

Ouch!! I'd try some aloe or my favorite is noxima face cream (has silver sulfide in it which workes great on soothing burns)

:hug feel better

Just keep it in the cold water for as long as possible. You need to cool your skin.

Definitely do not put anything oily or greasy on it (people used to use butter, HUGE NO NO). It just holds the heat inside, which is bad.

I don't know what to put on afterwards, I'm sure you will get some more great suggestions here.

Oh OUCH!!!!

If you have an aloe plant, I always pluck a fat stem off and apply it to the burn. (Lots of burns when I'm in the kitchen...that's why I grow aloe.)

I miss my aloe plants. I don't have any right now. :( I have a big bottle of aloe gel, but I put some EO's in it. Would it be OK to use?

Ok...I asked someone who said:

milk, egg white, mustard, or honey (individually...you don't have to use all of them) could help.

:think I was thinking breastmilk too but didn't suggest it because I had no idea if it worked. But I knew it was pretty much a cure-all for everything else...

Glad to hear it helps burns too. :tu

I ended up holding one of those freezer thingies in my hand all day (you know, the kind they give you in the hospital, they come in a diaper bag with a bottle-cooler thing. I knew they'd be good for something! :giggle ) it feels better now & surprisingly no blister. But the skin is red and really hard feeling.

If you have it on hand, or can get it, Lavander oil (essential oil) works really well for burns and general healing.

Hope your hand is feeling better soon!

WINDEX!

just kidding.

I use honey all the time for burns and the pain goes away fast and I never blister. I'm clumsy and burn myself a lot :O
