My friend and I were talking about the Zone diet and I realized that dd and I eat ALOT of carbs. Rice cakes, veggie booty, crackers, Nature-Os etc. What are some snack ideas that aren't carby? I've been keeping raisins, carrots, apples, bananas with us, but I'm wanting something different.
Do you have any ideas for healthy on-the-go snacks that don't have to be kept refrigerated?

How about trail mix? Raisins, nuts--usually there's chocolate in there but that would be full of sugar, so I'm not sure what else you could put in the sweeten it slightly. Carob chips? I've never had them but I know people sometimes use carob as a chocolate substritute. And actually, just nuts alone make a great snack. Fruit leathers are good, too, although high in natural sugar, not sure if that's a problem or not. Hard-boiled eggs are also a good on-the-go snack.
