Easy Pumpkin Cake Recipe?

I think I remember someone on here saying you can take a commercial box of cake mix and mix a can of pumpkin and bake muffins/cupcakes with it.
Is that right?
Do you need to add anything else?
How long do you bake it?
Does it taste good or like a sponge?

a spice cake mix (duncan hines is what i always used)
1 can of pumpkin
1/4-1/2C water
and that's all
loved this before DH added dairy to their mixes!
baked for about 30min iirc
was more sticky than regular cake

I use a large can (28 oz) of pumpkin with a chocolate cake mix, nothing else added. Cook according to directions on box... Yummy! I'm gonna make this myself soon...
