I have now spent hours trying to get the footage from my camcorder into my computer so I can upload it and share it. I bought a groovy i.link wire from ebay. I turn on the software, and, no matter what I do, it says it does not recognize the camera or the camera is not on.

What kind of computer & camera are you using?

How very frustrating.

Have you called your camcorder company? When I did that for the first time, I called them directly to find out precisely what equipment I would need to transfer footage to the computer. They walked me through it.

it's a sony computer and a sony camcorder.

it's a good idea to call the company -- I've been looking through their website with no luck.
