Can You Can Fruit With Cane Sugar?

As we are canning peaches today and I am watching all the refined sugar go into the recipes :sick I am wondering if it is possible to can with cane sugar? I don't see why it wouldn't work. Has anyone done this before, and do you use the same amount as regular sugar? My mom cuts the sugar down in the recipe...could you do that with cane sugar as well?

:think I don't see why not. :shrug I don't have experience here but I know some sweet pickle recipes call for brown sugar. I use evaporated cane juice wherever I can afford to instead of refined sugar with great results. I say go for it...and I think you can use fruit puree or fruit concentrate or something to replace some of the sugar...? anyone know?
